The office of Jablonski DeVriese Architects is located on the second floor of the 1811 Alexander House in Springfield, MA. This house has a very interesting history, being first built on State Street by the quartermaster form the nearby Springfield Armory. The house was later moved about 100 yards off of State Street to create a larger open lot. Most recently in 2004 the house was moved again to 29 Elliot Street to make way for the new Federal Courthouse being constructed on State Street.
The house is Greek revival in style with fluted Corinthian columns upholding a pediment that contains a circular bulls eye window. The interior is highlighted by a vaulted ceiling central hall, original fireplace mantles in most rooms and an elliptical cantilevered stair. The house is located in the heart of the Armory Quadrangle Historic District.
