In our work, we are committed to the well being and overall good health of our buildings inhabitants.  We strive to achieve an end result through our designs that remains true to the site context while also preserving (typically) the buildings historical character.  We recognize the responsibility which we have to the environment and understand the issues relating to the vast amounts of energy that buildings consume in order to operate.  Our designs feature the application of advanced technology to provide responsive environments that are also responsible.

In our office, the same responsibility applies.  Through minimizing paper waste, office-wide recycling efforts, the use of alternative transportation and carpooling, as well as the utilization of an existing historical building for our office we are aware of the environmental issues affecting our community.  Our office design features natural flooring that was original to the house, linoleum, and recycled kitchen cabinets and furniture that enforce our office attitude about our carbon footprint. Additionally, two members of the SJA Team are certified LEED professionals.
